John Mark Sorum

Originally from Seattle, John Mark Sorum attended Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles prior to relocating to New York City. He completed his BA at School of Visual Arts, receiving degrees in both photography and art history.

John Mark has collaborated with MTV, Diesel Jeans, Sony, Miramax, Wennermedia, Ace Hotels, Sprint, Luca Luca, AB Hotel Group, JWT, Anomaly, Mother, TBWA Chiat Day, Sharpe Blackmore Euro RSCG 4D and Nike. His work has also been published in American Vogue, W Magazine, Surface, Flaunt, GQ, Noise, Crash, Spanish Bazaar, Spin and The New York Times Magazine.

In 2004, his art book “Identical” was published by Neverstop; solo shows at Colette in Paris and Art Space in Los Angeles soon followed.

John Mark was recently the Creative Director and Lead Photographer at True Action in Soho. Owned by GSI Commerce, the studio specialized in high volume ecommerce photography and production. Clients included Betsey Johnson, Henri Bendel, Poppin, Calvin Klein and Aeropostale.

John Mark lives in New York City.
